Brooklyn-based keyboardist and composer Mercer Shavelson brings his inventive voice to Live From The Bridgefor an intimate in-studio recording and performance. Known for his fluid blend of jazz, R&B, and experimental influences, Mercer’s sound reflects both deep tradition and fearless exploration.
A Long Island native and the son of a jazz singer, Mercer has been immersed in music since childhood. His playing is shaped by icons like Bill Evans and John Coltrane, as well as modern innovators such as Tigran Hamasyan and The Roots. A graduate of The New School for Jazz on full scholarship, Mercer has shared his music at venues including Smalls, Shapeshifter Lab, and Williamsburg Music Center, performing with some of NYC’s most forward-thinking musicians.
